About the property

A unique English-style villa with an impressive interior and a beautiful mature garden is located in the desirable location of Slapy just 5 minutes from the dam and within walking distance of the golf course. The original historical building was rebuilt into a purposeful modern residence in collaboration with Claude Reyren, the Swiss court architect of the Italian royal family of Savoy.

Upon entering the house we find an elegant entrance hall which is connected to a country-style kitchen through a bright corridor lined with windows. From this we can go directly to the garden and to the functional cellar built in the rock. Next to the kitchen is a spacious living room with a fireplace and several French windows that lead to a beautiful mature garden. From the living room it is possible to climb the spiral staircase to the second floor or use the comfortable staircase in the entrance hall.

On the upper floor there is a large master bedroom with a dressing room and a balcony, a bathroom and two separate rooms. From the open gallery, which can be used as a library, there is a beautiful view of the surrounding greenery and the panorama of the village.

The building underwent an expensive renovation including insulation. Heating is provided by an air-water heat pump and there is a fireplace in the living room that heats the entire house. The floors and doors are made of solid wood, as are the windows, cladding and custom built-in furniture. In the well-maintained garden there is a pond and preparations for a swimming pool. A boston ivy along the facade of the house is helping to warm the house in the winter and maintain a pleasant climate in it in the summer.

The location of the house in a quiet part of the village ensures silence and plenty of privacy. The beautiful surroundings offer a wide range of sporting and recreational activities. The village has a traditional and organic food store, a restaurant, a primary and kindergarten school, a doctor and a sports field. Regular cultural events are held at the nearby castle. The connection with Prague is provided by a direct bus line which takes you to Smichovske nadrazi station in 45 minutes.
